I framed the shot carefully to include Philopappos Hill on the left, easily recognizable by its monument perched atop. To the right, Pnyx Hill came into view, a place steeped in history where ancient Athenians gathered for their assemblies.

As I walk around the city of Athens, I’m always mindful of my belongings, ensuring that I keep an eye on where I’m going. If I ever find myself lost, I don’t hesitate to ask for directions, preferring to seek help rather than risk getting more lost. To avoid attracting unwanted attention, I never expose my cellphone, instead opting to pretend I know the place.
To make the most of my visit and avoid crowds and midday heat, I plan my visits to popular sites like the Acropolis for early in the morning. This allows me to enjoy these landmarks in a more serene setting, free from the hustle and bustle of the day.
Given that Athens can get quite hot, especially in summer, I always make sure to stay hydrated by carrying water bottle with me. This simple precaution helps me stay refreshed and energized throughout the day. Additionally, I wear comfortable shoes suitable for exploring the city’s hills and uneven surfaces, ensuring that my feet remain comfortable as I take in the sights and sounds of Athens.
